Spring Road Transport Rally
This event is a celebration of all forms of road vehicles. Large and small transport are invited at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre on Sunday 21st April from 10am to 4pm.
NTHC says “we welcome classic cars, buses, and lorries – representing a wide range of eras and purposes.”
Other Heritage Centre attractions are expected to be open as usual!
Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre is one of Ruddington’s main visitor attractions. It’s a great place for a family day out with a miniature ride-on railway, vintage bus collection, model railways and the bric-a-brac shop. [Usually there’s a full size standard gauge railway covering around nine miles, which is currently not in operation.].
Weather and volunteers permitting, The Nottingham Society Of Model And Experimental Engineers Ltd will be open operating their excellent miniature railway and for a small fee you too can enjoy the ride!
NABS – Nottingham Area Bus Society will be open 10am till 4pm all weekend for external viewing however, if you wish to get up close to the buses please ask a member of staff who will be only too pleased to give you a guided tour of the collection.
Ruddington Model Railway Club are open between 11am and 4pm all weekend so why not visit and view their models of the local area’s railway.
Also there’s The Heritage Cafe serving hot meals, snacks and drinks. It’s usually open at the weekends from 10am to 4pm (and also on Wednesdays).
Car parking is available on site but NTHC says “we do kindly request a voluntary donation of £2.00 per vehicle is made please. This can be paid into the collection box located in the car park.”
NTHC’s list of attractions and events are usually listed on its Facebook page >>HERE<<. Or please feel free to contact the Centre.
Please note: You are advised to check NTHC events for details and cafe opening times, as activities may be subject to change (for example due to volunteers and/or the weather). Email nthcevents@gmail.com or take a look at https://nthc.info/events/
